Tyler Lee mabe, 12 years old from Spies NC, and student of West Moore elementary; was walking home from visiting his neighbor (he was excited to share his football practice information) and on his return home was struck by a "man" named "Bobby Frye"- who fled the scene and left this baby in a ditch to die because "he didn't have tags or insurance". Tyler was airlifted to chapel hill on 8-30-22 after being left. He is in a medically induced coma, suffering head trauma, broken ribs, broken sternum, broken hips, broken leg, broken pelvis and swelling on the brain. The doctors have said he will need physical therapy, speech therapy, rehab and more. He will not remember anything and will be like a newborn baby for a long time. The family needs help purchasing a handicap van because he will be in a wheelchair for a long time. This has been so hard on us all, and unexpected. Tylers life was forever changed, and for what? He's a little boy who hasn't even gotten to live a life yet.. the facts of this if a lot to bare; on top of the expenses nobody had saved for. The family needs help with gas, and the cost of living at the hospital, they want to be right beside Tyler every step of the way.. Anything will help, if you can't donate, please pray, and share. Thank you all and God bless you.

Tyler is still not doing the best. He was taken out of ICU but quickly put back due to fevers and extreme pain. He wasn't ready to be moved. When Tyler's head hit the window it caused severe front brain damage. His brain smashed against his skull, the doctors say brains can heal.. but we don't know how long it will take. He no longer understands the words we say, and can't talk, walk or eat on his own. He will need years of therapy and help. He did open his eyes but he's so out of it he doesn't really know who we are. It's just heartbreaking to see him like this, please keep the prayers coming because it's going to get harder before it gets better. Thank you all so much for the food, extra gas, T-shirt donations and mostly; the love and prayers. We have felt our community show up for us and it's so appreciated. Thank you to everyone.
